« Près de tes paupières » is a participative and multimedia exhibition in the public space of Delémont. Our aim is to create a dialogue within the city of Delémont and its surroundings through art and poetry. Through poems, visuals and participatory workshops, our artworks are developed in co-creation with the local population. They are inspired by the diversity of public spaces, thematizing the complexity around questions of belonging and identity through personal stories and subjective images. « Près de tes paupières » invites the people of Delémont and its surroundings to take part in a creative and collective process, and to let themselves be surprised by different thoughts and images. Through this project, we hope above all to encourage collective reflection on our common links.
From 20 August to 1 September 2024, the exhibition « Près de tes paupières » will be displayed
on billboards in various public places in the city of Delémont, as well as in the Galerie
Paul-Bovée and on the internet.
You can find more information about the places of the
exhibition in the
«Places» section.

The map « Près des tes paupières » accompanies throughout the exhibition « Près de tes paupières ».
It connects the eight locations of the exhibition in an interactive way and invites you to
observe the city from a new angle and to take part in the project.
The entire route takes around 1 hour and 40 minutes on foot, and 60 minutes by bike if
completed in the suggested order. Each place is associated with a question taken from the texts and
images of the « Près de tes paupières » project. The route is accompanied by audio files, available
via QR codes on the back of the map. The map also features spaces for taking notes on the
experience,
in the form of text or drawings.
For each location chosen for the exhibition, Maeva Rubli and Hanna Schiesser organized co-creation
workshops inspired by the inhabitants, in which they brought together different perspectives,
stories
and images. They worked with institutions and inhabitants of Delémont and its surroundings. Together
they explored different questions such as: Where do I feel at home? What do these places remind me
of?
What do I want for Delémont? What do I want to say to it? What links us together? What do we want to
share within our town? The fruits of the co-creation workshops form the essence of « Près de tes
paupières ».
You can find out more about the co-creation process in the «Places» section.
The poems by Anisa Alrefaei Roomieh served as the starting point for the project. They bring together
memories and experiences from her homeland, Syria, and her new home in Delémont, offering a fresh
perspective on the city. Inspired by these impressions and the outcomes of the co-creation
workshops, Maeva Rubli, a Jura native born in Delémont, and Hanna Schiesser, a Swiss German who was
unfamiliar with Delémont at the beginning of the project, created posters that express their own
questions and reflections about the city.
The creation of the posters took place in Hanna and Maeva’s studio or in résidence. There, they
transformed the material collected and immersed themselves in the creative process. The two artists
mixed their personal interpretations and images with the creations made by the workshop
participants, their field research and Anisa’s poems. First, they worked on a large format in Indian
ink, then they integrated digital elements, which reflect the complexity and nuance of the themes of
belonging and identity.
You can find out more about the creative process in the “Places” section.
The artistic mediation of the project aims to provide tools for individual and autonomous
experience,
as well as encourage exchange and collective experience. The artistic mediation workshops create a
link between the exhibition and the population and take place in different places in Delémont.
The activities happen on the move in the different exhibition venues. The diversity of languages and
artistic
tools enables the exchange between participants, as well as the discovery of other voices and
perspectives.
We hope to continue the process of co-creation that started with the workshops.
If you are interested in having an individual experience around the exhibition, you'll find more

We are Maeva, Hanna and Camila. We are part of the RU collective. As part of this project, we think and talk with images, colors, words and processes. Each of us uses her own voice to create links with the other members of the group, the public space of Delémont and the population of the Jura.
To set up our project, we worked in collaboration with Anisa Alrefaei Roomieh for the poems, Zoé
Jeangros on communication, Melis Sututar on website programming, Shatha Zaid-Alkelani for
translating poems into German and English, Amel Bouchiba for translating poems into French, Marlyse
Audergon as a press agent, and Elisabeth Binotto as an intern.
Various people helped on a voluntary basis: Stefan Michel for proofreading the German poems, Annie
Rutherford for proofreading the English poems, Frédéric and Chantal Burkhard for proofreading the
French poems, Martine Rubli for proofreading various texts, Vanessa Hatzky and Ulrich Rubli for
financial advice.
We also benefited from advice from Saskia Haas, mediator, Samantha Ramos, interjurassic youth
delegate, Dominique Kaufmann, from Delémont town council, Philippe Duvanel, former artistic director
of Delémont'BD and Carole Maître, assistant manager of the Théâtre du Jura.
